Editorial Policies

The following policies govern all submissions to the Avishkaran Journal of Young Researchers (AJYR) and are designed to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practice.

Affiliations Policy

  • Authors must clearly and accurately report all institutional affiliations associated with the conception, conduct, funding, and approval of the submitted work to ensure appropriate institutional acknowledgment.
  • For non-research contributions (e.g., reviews, editorials, letters, and commentaries), authors must provide their current institutional affiliation to reflect their professional status at the time of submission.
  • When an author has changed institutional affiliation during the preparation or submission of the manuscript, the institution where the work was primarily conducted must be listed as the principal affiliation. The author’s current affiliation should be indicated in a footnote.
  • Authors without a relevant institutional affiliation must explicitly declare their status as independent researchers.

Authorship Policy

AJYR adheres to the authorship criteria established by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)All listed authors must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, data acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of the work.
  • Have participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  • Have approved all versions of the manuscript and the final version submitted for publication.
  • Have agreed to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the content.
  • Have collectively approved the decision to submit the manuscript to AJYR.

Corresponding Author

For manuscripts with multiple authors, one individual must be designated as the corresponding author. This author is responsible for all communication with the journal, coordinating revisions, securing author approvals, and ensuring compliance with AJYR’s editorial and ethical policies.

Dual Authorship

AJYR permits the designation of shared first or shared senior (last) authorship when two authors have contributed equally to the work. Such contributions must be clearly stated in the manuscript to ensure appropriate academic recognition.

Changes to Authorship

Changes in authorship are permitted only before final acceptance of the manuscript. Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors must be submitted in writing and accompanied by signed consent from all listed authors, including those being added or removed, along with a clear justification for the change. All requests are subject to editorial approval in accordance with ethical publishing standards.
